Revision rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a cosmetic surgery for the better shape of nose. Many peoples adopt rhinoplasty for better nose so that they look more beautiful. A majority of nose jobs are successful but some times the result of rhinoplasty is not according to the customer needs. In such cases there is a need of secondary rhinoplasty, which is known as revision rhinoplasty. But this is very less required because most of the peoples get desired result after first rhinoplasty. Only ten to fifteen percent of total cases of nose surgery required revision rhinoplasty. The common reason for revision rhinoplasty are-

• Remedying problems
• Removal of visible scarring

Generally in the cases of revision rhinoplasty there is majority of such candidates who go for the nose surgery for cosmetic purpose, in these cases only customer think about proper shape of nose which increase their facial beauty. Normally candidates go for some other rhinoplasty surgeon for secondary rhinoplasty; they will not go for the same surgeon. The requirement of revision rhinoplasty is due to only small error at the time of first nose surgery. That’s why revision rhinoplasty requires more expert plastic surgeon.

In revision rhinoplasty small bumps and or small dips are filled, which are not filled on first rhinoplasty. For filling these bumps and dips silicone is used. In some cases due to lack of patient care revision rhinoplasty is required, in such situations very less nose job work is required that’s why in such conditions the cost of revision rhinoplasty is comparatively less. If the purpose of first rhinoplasty is not cosmetic then the revision rhinoplasty is too complicated and the cost is also high. In such conditions surgeon have to done both jobs- improvement of respiratory system and shape of nose. But such cases arise rarely. The requirement of revision rhinoplasty is due many reasons such as scar tissue, thick skin, nasal tissue etc.

Some times patients go for revision rhinoplasty due to mental approach. This is the habit of some candidate that they will not satisfy with first treatment, especially in case of girls. Such candidates go for secondary or possibly third rhinoplasty. There also some cases in which patient may not be able to adjust according to new nose, resulted from first nose surgery. In such cases revision rhinoplasty is required to relief the patient.
