Septoplasty

Septoplasty is a type of plastic surgery in which the nasal septum is straightened. Some peoples call this surgery by name septoplasty rhinoplasty but it is quite different from nose job. It is true that septoplasty is done for the improvement in respiratory system and or reshaping of nose, but it is different from rhinoplasty. In rhinoplasty the whole nose is reshaped but in septoplasty only the nasal septum is reshaped.

Nasal septum is the part of nose between two nasal cavities. The ideal position of nasal spectrum is in center of nose but in some persons it deviates into any one of the nasal cavities. This condition of nasal spectrum narrows or blocks the cavity, which make problems in airflow through it. So the treatment of this is very important. So there is need to enlarge the nasal cavity, which is done through septoplasty surgery. This surgery takes around one and half hour in completion. Septoplasty recovery time is not included in this.

In nasal septoplasty flexible splints are used, these splints are placed in nose holes with the help of a stitch. In septoplasty surgery general anesthesia is required. In this the surgeon exercise nasal cartilage tissue and make an incision on the septum to straighten the cartilage. First the cartilage will be straightened and then exercise the nasal cartilage tissue. There not much complications of septoplasty it is simpler and easier than rhinoplasty. The septoplasty cost is also less than rhinoplasty.

The septoplasty recovery time is around one week, after one week the patient feels full recovery. If you have such a problem then first consult septoplasty surgeon first and then adopt it.
